    What is SVG file format?

SVG means Scalable Vector Graphics. It is a vector image format used to define two-dimensional graphics with support for animation and interactivity which is designed for web technologies. One of the advantages of SVG files over raster files is that they are resolution-independent and can scale to any dimension without losing the original file quality. On the other hand, raster files lose their resolution when enlarged due to their small pixels.

    Why Convert SVG Files?

There are many reasons why SVG files are converted to other formats. Some of the reasons are as follows:

    1. Compatibility – Some applications, like older versions of Microsoft Office and some social media platforms, do not support SVG files. Therefore, converting to PNG, JPEG, GIF, or PDF ensures broader compatibility.
    2. Editing in different software—Some editing tools, like Adobe Photoshop, which are commonly used, work better with PDF, PNG, JPEG, or PSD; this requires users to convert SVG files to ease their editing work.
    3. Printing requirements – Because SVG files are not supported by some printers, users opt to convert SVG to PDF to ensure compatibility and better print quality.
